越南繁華的首都河內，是個充滿反差的城市。法國殖民地的過去跡象與中國的影響相互交融。新增的商業活動和發展，意味著城市正面臨巨大的成長幅度，但你仍然可以找到平靜的街道和廣場。如果你早晨走在城市的街道上，你會看到上千人正在上班途中，其他許多人則悄悄地在練太極拳。

要看古代越南建築，那就要到11世紀的文學寺廟。這座寺廟後來成為一所大學，這個地方走起來很美。要探尋一個更加生意盎然的步道，老城區蜿蜒擁擠的街道也許最完美不過了。商店銷售傳統的越南產品，如絲綢和刺繡材料。

The Vietnamese capital is a wonderful blend of old and new, East and West.

Hanoi, Vietnams bustling capital, is a city of contrasts. Signs of its French colonial past intermingle with Chinese influences. Increased business activity and development have meant that the city is seeing huge levels of growth, and yet you will still find peaceful avenues and squares. If you walk through the citys streets in the morning, youll see thousands of people on the way to work and many others quietly practicing tai chi.

To see ancient Vietnamese architecture, head over to the 11th-century Temple of Literature. The temple was later used as a university, and its grounds are beautiful to walk through. For a livelier walk, the winding, crowded streets of the Old Quarter might be perfect. Stores sell traditional Vietnamese products, such as silk and embroidered materials.

One of the most famous sites in the city is Ho Chi Minhs Mausoleum. The huge marble building houses the former leaders body in a glass case. You will have to be respectful if you go inside. If you would prefer to see examples of the countrys culture, head to the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology. The museum houses works of tribal art and cultural exhibits.
